Dialword

Dialword
6 guesses

still possible in each spot

Type a five-letter word.

How to play Dialword

Guess today's five-letter word in six tries. After each guess, every tile tells you something. Green means the letter is right and in the right spot. Otherwise you get an arrow: ◀ blue means the right letter for that spot comes earlier in the alphabet (towards A), and ▶ amber means it comes later (towards Z).

Think of each letter as a dial on a combination lock: every guess tells you which way to turn it. Under the grid, the game keeps track of what's still possible in each spot, like "D to K", so every guess narrows things down. It's less about luck and more about clever detective work.

Questions

Is Dialword free?

Yes. It's free to play in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer, with nothing to download and no sign-up.

How is it different from Wordle?

There are no yellow tiles. Instead, each wrong letter points you towards the right one, so you can home in on the answer letter by letter. Every guess has to be a real word, which is where the cunning comes in.

When is there a new word?

Every day at midnight, your time. Everyone gets the same word, so you can compare with friends.

Can I play more than once a day?

The daily word is one go each. Once you're done, you can practise on earlier days' words.

Do you keep any of my data?

No. Your games and stats are saved only on your own device, in your browser, and there's no account. It's free because it shows adverts from Google; see privacy and cookies for how those work.
